Heat Treated Braided Fiberglass Sleeving

MJ FLEX GF-HT-N is a lightweight, uncoated fiberglass sleeve for insulating wires, cables and small tubing exposed to elevated temperatures. A heat-setting process stabilizes the braid, helping it maintain a uniform tubular shape while improving surface smoothness and cut-end control.

Its thin and flexible construction makes it suitable for compact assemblies where thermal separation and basic mechanical protection are required without the added bulk of a coating. GF-HT-N is commonly used around heating elements, appliance wiring, industrial leads and other high-temperature electrical routes.

  • Why Choose GF-HT-N

    • Insulate compact high-temperature assemblies

Thin walls from 0.20 to 0.50 mm protect small wires and leads without adding excessive bulk.

    • Improve consistency during installation

Heat setting stabilizes the braid, helping it hold its diameter and pass more smoothly over the protected component.

    • Reduce cutting and handling problems

The treated surface is smoother and more resistant to fraying than untreated braided fiberglass.

    • Cover fine diameters with a broad size program

Available in various inner diameters for sensor leads, motor winding connection wires, and internal equipment wiring.

    Typical Applications

    • Electric motors and generators

Insulates lead wires and winding connections exposed to sustained heat and restricted space.

    • Metallurgical process equipment

Provides thin high-temperature insulation for instrument wiring and service lines away from direct molten splash.

    • Aerospace and automotive assemblies

Covers sensor leads, ignition wiring and localized high-temperature routes where low wall build matters.

    • Transformers and electrical cabinets

Separates and insulates wire leads where thermal stability and controlled sleeve dimensions are required.

    How to Select

Measure the maximum OD along the protected component and any terminal transition the sleeve must pass over. Select a close fit that can be installed without damaging the braid or compressing the insulation beneath it. Check temperature at the sleeve location, conductor voltage, bend radius, vibration and contact with sharp edges. For moving routes, validate flex life and abrasion in the finished assembly.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    01. Is GF-HT-N coated with silicone?

No. It is an uncoated heat-treated braided fiberglass sleeve. Select a coated construction when the application needs additional sealing or splash resistance.

    02. What does the heat-setting process improve?

It stabilizes the braid, improves dimensional consistency and produces a smoother surface with better resistance to fraying during handling.

    03. Does 600 V breakdown strength equal the equipment voltage rating?

Not by itself. The final rating depends on the applicable standard, test method, wall thickness, geometry and installation conditions.

    04. How should cut ends be handled?

Use clean scissors for cutting. When handling fiberglass sleeving, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and take measures to minimize the release of loose fibers.
